Shwmae Welsh Soc!
I have loved being a part of Welsh Soc this year and I've felt so welcomed in by you all, which considering I haven't actually met any of you is a testament! I would love to be on your committee next year, and I'd love to be Events Officer. A few years ago, I actually qualified as a certified Wedding Planner and Events Manager. Whilst doing my undergraduate at Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, I organised four concerts, among other events and not too long ago I started my own events and party planning business, called Enchanted Tales. I would love to organise Welsh Soc events next year and here are a few of my ideas:
- Welsh Soc Eisteddfod (with students from across UCL and other societies to perform too!)
- Talks and discussions with Welsh artists, writers, educators and more (I'm a musician and have quite a wide range of Welsh performer/celebrity/lecturer etc. contacts)
- Gavin and Stacey Pub Crawl and Quiz Night
- Trips and Walks
- Concerts and shows (Hiraeth looked AMAZING and I would love to help put on something similar)
... and more!
Let's make up for this year that we've lost being altogether and do some really fun things as a society, in person (Covid allowing of course)!

Hey! My name is Danilo and I would love to be your Welsh Society Events Officer! I love hosting parties and events and in the future I would love to be a party/wedding/events planner, so this would be great practice! I have many ideas for both online events (Speeding friending/dating, quizzes and screenings of movies) and in person events, such as a Welsh dance night, Welsh cooking lessons and dinner and more! I love the Welsh language and am planning on learning it, and I really want to help promote this important language! Welsh is already the fastest growing language in the UK on duolingo, and I want to help promote the language further by the Welsh Society events and also helping set up the language classes! I am a very responsible and organised person - last year, I ran 5 societies, including a Languages and Cultures club, which I loved! - and I would ensure that the Welsh Society is the best it can be! :)
