With the help of the Student's Union, I founded UCL Welsh Soc in January 2019. I served as President from Jan 2019-Sept 2020 and am currently the VP / Welfare Officer.

My involvement with Welsh Society includes teaching the biweekly Welsh language lessons every Monday Night during term time since January 2019. In 2020 I produced Welsh Soc's first Bloomsbury Theatre Cultural Show “Hiraeth” which I was able to register as part of the official Wales Week / London Celebrations. I spent about 10 months planning this variety arts show all about Wales which involved working and communicating with 90+ students and 6 UCL Societies! I have also helped run a variety of online events this year including #WelshSocWednesdayWorkouts during Lockdown on Instagram live, and our LGBTQ+ History Events and fundraiser which raised £360 for Pride Cymru!

As Communications Officer, I would be responsible for advertising events and getting the word out about all our great stuff! I have past experience using Mailchimp to write and send out the Welsh Society monthly mailers. I also have experience using Canva to design great advert images! At the moment, I currently help with writing and posting for Welsh Society’s Facebook and Instagram pages and I maintain the Welsh Society website: https://uclwelshsociety.weebly.com Speaking Welsh also helps me to include Welsh language in our posts, advertisements, and other communications.

Thank you so much for considering me for Communications Officer!
