Botond Major
Water polo has been an important part of my life and I would like it to remain one of my extracurricular activities while I attend university. I have been an active member of a water polo team for 9 years in Hungary. During these years, I was able to acquire deep knowledge not only about the sport but also about how to plan and organize trainings efficiently.
My top priority would be to make it possible to be able to practice more (both in and outside a swimming pool). I would like to offer the team five practices a week in the pool along with two or three in a gym. I would also try to organize practice games with water polo societies at other universities to try out the tactic elements in real game situations.
Being part of the society and attending trainings should be enjoyable to everyone. Therefore, I would also offer two types of practices: one for those who are at a more advanced level and one for those who are getting familiar with this sport.
Apart from these, I also would put emphasis on the events outside the pool. I would organize as many team programs as I could to make this society more than just a water polo team.
To sum up, if I were elected as the team captain of the water polo team, I would use my prior knowledge about the sport to make this team as successful in the competitions as possible.
