Botond Major
Water polo has been an important part of my life and I would like it to remain one of my extracurricular activities while I attend university. I have been an active member of a water polo team for 9 years in Hungary. During these years, I was able to acquire deep knowledge not only about the sport but also about how to plan and organize trainings efficiently.
My top priority would be to make water polo more popular. Unfortunately, this sport is underrepresented. Therefore, I would make more events for those who do not know anything (or just a little) about this sport. These events would include more trial trainings (for free) and events about the sport, including watching real games. I also would like to make it possible to be able to practice more (both in and outside a swimming pool). I would like to offer the members of the club five practices a week in the pool along with two or three in a gym.
Being part of the society and attending trainings should be enjoyable to everyone. Therefore, I would also offer two types of practices: one for those who are at a more advanced level and one for those who are getting familiar with this sport.
Apart from these, I also would put emphasis on the events outside the pool. I would organize as many team programs as I could to make this society more than just a water polo team.
To sum up, if I were elected as the president of the water polo society, I would use my prior knowledge about the sport to make the most out of this society.
