Haroon Nasir
My name is Haroon Nasir and I am running to be your Treasurer!

I am a delegate at LIMUN 2021, Europe's largest University-level MUN conference. Through this, I hope to gain insights and apply them to make UCL UNA a more efficient and inclusive society.
Nithish Amaladas
I have come here to engage in diplomacy and make money, and I’m all out of money. Who knew going all-in on Cryptocurrencies and meme stonks isn’t a very smart idea.
All jokes aside, having worked with the UNA-YP as head of accounts, I believe I can bring a lot of positive changes downstream to the UCLUNA especially in the treasury and secretary departments.
Keeping that in mind, this is my current action plan:
• Modernize our accounting, automating as many processes as possible; especially the automatic request system from the UNA-YP
• Digitize our ledger and increase transparency
• Lobby for a webmaster position in the committee, that will work with the treasurer and the new ledger system
• Keep our membership prices free and raise funds via alternative means
• Lobby for more conferences at UCL
• improve inclusiveness in our society, especially for people of lesser means.
I have worked with the UNA-YP, with the UKFCP (federation of Chinese professionals), as a professional manager, and with my high school debate and MUN clubs.
Through my experiences, I have learnt that although we may be divided by cultures and creeds we can be united by the power of diplomacy and memes.

The position "Treasurer" is a misnomer. Beyond managing s t o n k s, this versatility is what aligns me so well with this role. Having learned the financial skills necessary for the role, my previous position as Events Director at 180DC UCL organizing hackathons, panels, and socials equip me well to assist in the planning and execution of training, conferences, volunteering, and other events. Having joined since Term 1 as an active member, messing around in training, and jumping into a MUN simulation, my familiarity with the committee members, committee structure, and committee activities will help to smoothen the transition, and build a strong inter-committee culture I witnessed as a society member.

In running for this role, I seek to go beyond the job description. While consolidating the society's financials (in preparation for post-pandemic activities) are my immediate priorities, I aim to streamline the financial accounting process (e.g. possibly by opening a business bank account) to reduce transaction fatigue for future treasurers and other committee members. At the same time, I intend to use my diverse experiences to facilitate the other activities (training, conferences, events, socials) that make UCLUNA such a wonderful society to be a part of
Zihan Xuan
Hello! I am Zi Han, a first-year PPE student running to be UCLUNA’s Treasurer.

I believe I am a suitable candidate for this role for two reasons. First, I have extensive experience in MUN, having chaired 7 conferences across Singapore and London, and currently serving as a MUN Development Officer at UNAYP-UK.

Furthermore, I have a keen interest in international development, and I hope to build on the partnership leads that I currently have with external organisations, as an incoming intern at the American think tank Milken Institute, a volunteer with Care4Calais, and one of the 50 mentees of the OxFID 2021 mentorship programme.

If elected, I will strive for these priorities:
- Organise interactive events with a diverse range of interest groups within UCL, as well as across other UK and European universities, to facilitate a more international inter-university conversation
- Push for in-person visits and trips to external organisations, including NGOs, policy institutes, and embassies, subject to prevailing restrictions
- Initiate an exclusive career resource hub, to enable society members to facilitate their professional development
- Support the President in terms of funds management and executive decision-making

If any of these ideas resonated with you, I will be incredibly grateful to have your support.

Thank you!
