In my role as publicity officer for the past year I've made some substantial changes to the club. We now have a website, a more eye-catching instagram and I organised a successful fundraiser at the start of the year.
I believe I'd suit the role of welfare and education officer extremely well as I'm approachable, organised and easy to talk to. Having been a Transition Mentor this year I've already helped freshers with not only education, by giving tutorials and answering questions related to the course, but also their welfare by supporting them with personal issues. As the welfare officer for RUMS Tennis I'd welcome the opportunity to make the club more inclusive to everyone and open more discussions about challenges individuals face whilst at University. This would have a particular focus on mental health and I look forward to arranging activities based on mindfulness and working closely with medics4medics to widen event participation. As education officer, I've already developed my teaching skills working at a tutoring agency for the past year, and I plan on running regular tutorials. I believe it's also important for older years to participate in teaching in order to strengthen their skills and will therefore organise a rotation scheme for those who want to deliver tutorials.
Lastly, Seb has had this role for 2 years too long and it's time for some fresh meat <3
