Well it has been quite a while since we've had regular tennis training. I'm hoping that during this "off-season", players have been able to improve their physical condition in anticipation for playing to restart. It could be rest and recuperation for the broken members of the club (Kabir, you really have got to stop injuring yourself); or perhaps the chance to bulk up so people stop making fun of you for losing your big arms, or for still having undersized legs (let's be honest, there is no need to name this individual). For others, this break from tennis could be the much needed opportunity to break out of the Zverev mindset and stop double faulting during training (hi Kish).

Right. Now that I've got those disses out the way (I've been saving them up for a while). Yeh, this year hasn't been the most straight forward for running tennis, or for anything really. Just when we got an idea of numbers and how the year of tennis would play out, we went into lockdown. I'm basically just going to copy what I said last year - I still want to get an intraclub tournament going; I still want to integrate women's and men's tennis training more (even though the fearless women's 1st team captain Maria still scares me); I still want to focus squad training on competitive game play. 2nd year medicine hasn't broken me (yet), so I'm still just as energetic and stupidly optimistic as I was in 1st year (for the time being). Anyway, please vote for me. Sam x
