Long Choy
Hi everyone! I am Charlotte, a first year Law student from Hong Kong. I genuinely enjoy being part of the UCL TEDx community and hearing from different speakers, and this passion is what drives me to take on the role of a President. From my experience as one of the Events Executives hosting the wellness series, I have formulated 3 ideas for our society. Firstly, building onto our existing connections, I would invite speakers from a wider variety of backgrounds so that our members will be presented with a wider range of perspectives. The speakers can include: university professors, founders of companies, and artists and musicians. Secondly, I would start a series of interactive social events which involves different activities such as travelling and baking, and these can be hosted in cooperation with other societies. Thirdly, I would introduce a speech competition that encourages students to express their thoughts in a creative and eloquent way. Through this new competition, I hope to create more opportunities for our members to speak in public and take on new challenges.

I look forward to meeting all of you, and I hope I can serve our community as the President next year!
Mukund Nathany
My TED journey started in 2017, when I became the Founder and Club Leader of my high school’s TED-Ed Club. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of leading TED-Ed Clubs for 3 annual cycles, organising 2 TEDx conferences as Primary Organiser and Licensee, hosting 15+ TED Circles, and working as an Events Executive for the UCL TEDx Appreciation Society.

But this is only the beginning.

This election, I seek your support to give me an opportunity to serve as your President, and together, make the UCL TEDx Appreciation Society reach greater heights in its mission to promote ideas worth spreading at UCL.

So be it by bringing the flagship TEDx conference and TEDx Salons back to UCL, registering us as an official TED Circles host society, organising curated events, collaborating with other university-level TEDx societies, helping students develop their ideas through TED Masterclass, and most importantly, creating lasting friendships and a sense of community in the society – I will do my best to bring the utmost value to our members.

The opportunities are limitless, the future is exciting, and I look forward to receiving your support and growing the society together!
