I joined TEDx App society at the beginning of this academic year and I am extremely grateful for the caring and supportive environment. I wished I joined earlier!
As Events Director, I will:
• Recruit more postgraduates and ambassadors to increase our reach and diversify our audience.
• With the consultation of other committee members, pitch a new platform for the events team to streamline our workflow.
• Increase communication within the events team by setting up bi-weekly informal catch-ups so that we can build a better bonded and closer committee.
• Focus on a number of high-quality events by reallocating more resources per event.
• Ensure that the committee can get all the guidance and support they need by liaising with the Welfare Officer. This is to ensure that their events are successful as possible whilst ensuring that they are able to balance their commitments and studies.

I am a history student with a huge interest in diplomacy, politics, and current affairs. In my free time, I listen to podcasts and TED talks and enjoy learning about rhetoric. Additionally, I am very sporty and enjoy competing in competitions both in ballet and golf. I play for the University of London team and was a part of the Retail Luxury and Business Society Committee for the 2020/2021 Academic Year. I have learned cooperation and teamwork as well as leadership and soft-skills such as communication and empowerment. My fun-loving, happy and dedicated mindset would be an excellent contribution to this society. I would hope to excite many new members who have little previous knowledge but also develop a strong cohesion between other society members. Inclusion and diversity are at the top of my list, and I believe these are essential for a society to flourish. As a member who joined this year, I do not know many members yet, therefore it is my priority to make everyone feel welcome: old members, freshers as well as online members who joined in 2020/21. As there is much uncertainty as to the format of the next academic year, I believe flexibility is a top priority therefore, look forward to a hybrid format of online and in-person events to accommodate those in London and those living abroad if you vote for me!
