Hello,
My name is Dan Rees and I am running for the position of Treasurer.
I have held this position for the last four months after pushing for the affiliation of the society with Harry, Alaa, Tara, and many others. In the process I have gotten familiar with the duties of a committee member, an experience which I would like to translate to my role next year by working with all the members of Subtext to create a beautiful, regular journal.
Therefore if re-elected I plan to work on the creation of our new website. The purpose of this website will be to host all of the society´s output and act as a hub for student writing. I am currently developing this website and hope to start migrating our content by April.
A key goal of mine is to attract both a wider readership and base of writers to Subtext. I believe we can achieve this through our online presence as well as through in-person socials and events, once university life continues as normal. I hope that we will all be able to see each other in person next fall, but if this is not the case, I will make sure that the society starts its first full year with regular online socials to create a friendly and inclusive community of writers, translators, and other creatives.
