Clementine Bachelart
Hi! I’m Clementine, a first year Philosophy Politics and Economics student. I’m applying for President at UCL USAAH.
I know this academic year has not been easy, and it has been especially difficult for society committees who have had to review their whole organisation. I want to bring the society a new dynamism and help you act in an efficient way while creating social links!

My aims if elected are:
- To get other insights on homelessness through collaboration with other societies
- To set up events with charities and other organisations to understand better the situation in the field and what we can do concretely to help
- To organise more socials to support you and help create links
- To improve the communications of the society to make them accessible to everyone and clear for new members by using WhatsApp and a newsletter
- To develop volunteering opportunities to help you have a concrete impact

You might then ask why I’m a good fit for achieving all that. Well, I am:
- Organised, having gained experience in event setting by organising a Young Alumni Forum
- Trustworthy as I’ve demonstrated through years of volunteering responsibilities, and especially as an animator
- A long-standing volunteer and thereby familiar with the charity sector
- Enterprising and not afraid to reach out to others to set up partnerships and projects
- Reachable and always there to listen to suggestions or difficulties

Thanks for your trust! :))
Victoria Simpson
Having joined the USAAH Committee this year, I’ve had the opportunity to work on multiple research projects, as well as the building of our new website, and various other general tasks. It’s been a pleasure to work with the current committee and I feel really proud of the work we’ve done, especially given the current circumstances due to the pandemic. Having had this experience, and having worked alongside our current president Lilla, I think I would be a great fit to take over the role of President next year. I hope that next year (fingers crossed post covid!) we’ll be able to host many more in person events and offer more volunteering opportunities through the society for our members, whilst continuing our research work and other ventures. I hope this will enable us to expand and grow our society, giving us an even greater reach and allowing us to raise awareness further, and make even more of a difference in the lives of rough sleepers in our community. This is a cause I feel incredibly passionately about, and having been involved this year as General Secretary, I only hope I can become more involved as President in the upcoming year.
