Hey, if you haven’t come across me already this year, I’m Tara and I would love to be your new Snowsports President. I have been in the club for two years now and have experience of being on committee as Social (Welfare) Sec where I had to be adaptable and put in the work to organise (dare I say) a fun Zoom Snowsports year. It’s safe to say I am passionate about the club and I want to make everything that couldn’t be done this year happen:
- I will do everything needed to make Ski Trip 2021 a reality and as safe as possible, guidelines permitting.
- Hopefully, competitions like BUDS and BUISC will be back on the cards and I will be able to help guide the committee through this, as I am aware many did not have a chance to go.
- Reinstate our regular ski, snowboard and freestyle training sessions.
- Work with the committee to organise some sick merch to be available before the ski trip - potentially society jackets, beanies or other pieces for members to buy.
- Foster a fun and comfortable environment for members with a range of social and welfare events.
Using my time over the summer I want to have everything ready to go for next year so we can have the Snowsports year we all deserve.

Hi, I'm Becca and I would love to be your president next year!
Joining snowsports was one of the best decisions I made at UCL and I would love to encourage more people to make the same decision and experience what our society has to offer throughout the year. I've really enjoyed being social sec this year and would love to be even more involved with committee in my final year. I have learned a lot about the society from my role, and have had to be a lot more creative with socials as a result of covid. I would hope to continue this creativity as president next year to ensure snowsports can come back bigger and better after a year of separation from the slopes!
If elected, my priorities would be:
- continuing the success from this year in attracting and retaining new members by improving our social media presence, offering more freshers events and continuing the family scheme
- organising more events and varied socials to make up for lost time and encourage ski-trip only members to get involved throughout the year
- continuing to make training sessions inclusive and welcoming for everyone regardless of ability
- securing an unlimited supply of extra joss for ski trip
I hope everyone has enjoyed being a part of snowsports this year, and I hope to continue making the club an inclusive and welcoming environment next year!
