Hello! I’m Priya and I’m running to be your next RUMS RAG VP! As part of the RAG 20/21 subcommittee, we had many ideas for this year which we couldn’t implement, however I would love to make these happen and continue to build on what we’ve already achieved! I believe that everyone can make a difference and, as RAG VP, I would devote myself to making this easier for everyone.

To help the wider community and increase the giving spirit in RUMS, I will:

CREATE: I have many ideas planned for new events for RUMS, including a Winter Charity Ball and auction, a Forgotten Freshers event for our current freshers, and an ‘I’m a BNOC, get me out of here!’ event. I would love to hold some sports-related charity events, including an ‘Around the World in 40 Days’ and work with the events committee to hold a charity cross-country.

SUPPORT: I want to continue to support charities close to RUMS including Spectrum, UCL Marrow and Make A Smile, amongst others, in their charitable actions and fundraising. Most of all, I want to support the people of RUMS in getting involved in community volunteering and help them give back.

INFORM: Charity is also about staying informed. With the release of the Raising and Giving Instagram in the coming weeks, I want to build on what we have planned to ensure there is a platform with information about current issues, but also continue to celebrate the charitable nature of the people of RUMS.

Thank you and I would really appreciate the vote!

Hi! I’m Aryan and I would love to be your RAG VP!

I believe that charity is at the heart of RUMS, over the past year we’ve seen huge efforts from people participating in fundraisers such as RUMS Runs and Blue January, and volunteering as vaccinators, 111 and other helpline operators, hospital volunteers, and undertaking many other roles in society. Initiatives like these bring people together over a shared mission, and that is what RAG is all about. This year I was a member of the RUMS Events Subcommittee and I have gained valuable skills in event planning and advertising, in-person or online, these would translate very well to events/initiatives for charity.

My key objectives are:

Expanding the outreach of our clubs, by providing a platform for advertisement and collaboration throughout clubs and the whole of RUMS.

Unlocking RUMS charitable potential, by organising events that involve everyone in RUMS and setting up a platform for ease of access to community volunteering schemes.

Establishing RAG as a cornerstone of RUMS, by involving all RUMS members in deciding what cause our fundraising events support.
