Mominah Khan
Hi! I'm Mominah and I would love to be RUMS Y4-6 Education VP! After not running for any roles in pre-clin years of medical school, I decided now was the time. I think the most important thing for this role is having the ability to communicate everyone's concerns with the medical school and vice versa. I would like to listen to students across all of the groups of Y4-6 students, not just the select few. I feel I am an approachable person and would love to have the discussions and conversations with both students and the medical school that make a difference to everyone's clinical experience. With lots of friends in Years 4, 5 and 6, I know that it is a world away from Years 1-3, so I aim to:

Ensure a more organised approach to timetabling and on-ward/off-ward weeks and giving students time for their own studies
Provide support/solutions to students with concerns over their hospital choices, both Y4s+5s, and Y6 DGH placements, and liaise with the medical school regarding this
Help to provide a more comfortable and less stressful transition from the iBSc year into clinical years, with the medical school's support
and work to make all the above cohesive across hospitals, reducing concerns over the variability of teaching across the trusts.
If elected, I hope to use my voice to take everyone's concerns to the people that can affect change to our medical education, and make the hard work required of us in our clinical years more worthwhile in the long term.
George Khalil
It would be a privilege to be elected as RUMS VP for Education Years 4-6 and work with the Medical School to improve your teaching and reduce educational-related stress; helping us all to achieve our full potential as the doctors of tomorrow.

In the past I have held positions such as RUMS Events VP, RUMS MHC 3s Captain, UH Activities Chair and Y4 Module A/B lead representative. As lead representative I engaged in many meetings and negotiated with the Medical School to better the experience of students at all three sites and more specifically the Royal Free. I facilitated a preference based rotation switch for members of Module B at the RFH and endeavoured to do the same for Module A. Using my previous experience of leading committees, teams and more recently speaking to staff, I will work tirelessly to represent your needs to UCLMS.

I pledge to:
1. Encourage issues to be solved via site & module specific meetings with students
2. Gather opinion on the apprenticeship model and work with UCLMS to build a model students are happy with
3. Help fill in the CPP based gap left due to COVID-19
4. Make module/site specific group chats to foster discussion
5. Work to standardise site-specific teaching
6. Hold the culture of the Medical School to account
7. Encourage specialty tutors
8. Help better organise Moodle pages

Please read my full manifesto online for more details on how I plan to meet my pledges and feel free to message/email me if you have any questions.
