Why Me?
I have previous experience with luxury brands, both at UCL RLBS (content creator for RLBS Magazine) and at a professional level in sales and marketing. During my time in these roles I had the opportunity to:
1) Develop my understanding of how to expand and market RLBS to corporations and students for the mutual benefit of both
2) Enhance my understanding of retail & luxury markets and develop a method on how RLBS members can fully utilise networking events for future job success
My Vision
1) Expand and enhance UCL RLBS Society as a premier business society to content with the likes of Investment and FinTech Soc. Expect more sponsors, as well as more events such as workshops and talks with leading professionals in luxury industries.
2) Increase UCL RLBS member involvement. I plan to achieve this through socials such as competitions, networking events, talks, company visits and inter-university challenges.
I’d like to create an environment where we can all pursue our common interest in luxury retail and make lasting friendships. I have ample leadership experience at UCL. I'm the academic representative of my class where I resolve students' complaints for example by deadline extensions. Also, I have been an executive in UCL Business Society for the past year, a role that I thoroughly enjoyed and learnt a lot from. Moreover, I’m representing a large group of students in communication with the Student Welfare office to provide further support for all students through this pandemic, including mental health support and leniency with grading. I have many ideas about fun and interesting events to host including: Motivational talks from small luxury business owners, visits from therapy dogs, talks about the process of designing a collection for a luxury brand, London Fashion Week and Sotheby’s visits and a weekly informal lunch near UCL where members are welcome to come and have some company, get to know each other better and share their insights into the world of luxury retail. I’d like to work with the MODO fashion, Business and Art History societies to organise stimulating and original events.
Hey everyone!
My name is Thomas and I am glad to be running for the position of President! I am extremely motivated to join this wonderful society, which offers a large range of opportunities and a very friendly and positive atmosphere. I am passionately fond of Retail, Luxury and Business and I am very keen to share my French touch to all the members of the society.
I am determined to promote this amazing society and to make sure that everyone at UCL is aware of the events we will organise if I am elected.
For you, I am ready to dedicate myself fully in order to organize regular events you will never forget, from parties in various fun and accessible places, to networking events inside and outside UCL.
You can count on my strong organizational and communication skills to offer you the best experiences, as London has so much to offer.
Being very persistent, responsible and dedicated, I will:
-Pay a lot of attention to details
-Work under the pressure of tight deadlines
-Demonstrate budget awareness.
-Promote communication
-Find creative approaches
-Guarantee that we have fun altogether and enjoy what we do!
If elected, I will re-use the great ideas which were brought up by the Retail and Luxury Business society last year and create online surveys to respond to your demands.
Finally, having a very international background, I will make sure that this society becomes center for interactions and work opportunities.
Thank you for your support!
