Hui Tan
I am Dorothy Tan, a first-year studying International Social and Political Studies. As a student of Politics and as a debater, I have been exposed to grievances of underrepresented and marginalised communities. Throughout high school, I have actively participated in community service and took on the role of being a volunteering team leader. Moving into university, I seek a platform to continue my efforts and to maximise my impact, which is why I am running for the position of Social Service Officer. As SSO, I will strive to amplify the voices of minorities and hopefully, inspire others into becoming impact-makers in our society.

I am proposing a total of 6 main events in the upcoming year, with a majority of these events contributing to the focused cause of homelessness under COVID-19. In June, we will be organising the ‘Kindness Walk’, partnering with ImpactHK to distribute necessities to rough sleepers. In November, we will take part in Wrap Up London to redistribute second-hand coats to homeless charities. Other new events include an inter-uni beach cleanup during Christmas and a guest speaker event featuring social enterprises.

All in all, it is my vision to make PASS a society able to create concrete social impact in Hong Kong and in London.
