Marta Sadlej
Hi everyone!

I am Marta, a Biomedical Sciences student with a special interest in the applications of new technologies in medical sciences. I will be starting my second year of studies in September.

I take Wellbeing and Mental Health very seriously, especially seing how commonly students need help in those areas. As a Welfare Officer I would actively raise awarness about the services that UCL and other bodies have to offer, so that everybody knows where to seek help.

I am currently vollunteering as a social worker, helping elderly people during the pandemic. My interests include many areas of life sciences, including bioinformatics, regenerative medicine and pharmacology, as well as movies and hiking.

I am proactive in my efforts. Only in the last month, I was involved in running a meeting with the Nobel Laureate Robert Lefkowitz, as well as the UCL SciCon's Pizza&PhD event. Our project of updateable immunity passports has won the second place on "COVID Challenge", a hackathon organised in April.

I would like to make the Polish society more visible, especially to its members. Especially during the pandemic, it is crucial that we feel part of the community of polish people at UCL.

Vote for me for the next Welfare Officer!
Tomasz Farys
My name is Tomasz Farys and together with Julia Wojciechowska and Maksymilian Mucha, I’m running for the Committee for 2021/22.
Since joining UCL, I was sure that I would love to be a part of the Polish Society - full of inspiring and creative people. For this reason, I was engaged in organising UCL Leaders 2021, primarily as the Head of the Film Panel.

As the Welfare Officer, I would like to make everyone in our society feel safe and welcomed, especially now during the pandemic. You could count on my support and contact me with any issue that bothers you. What is more, I would love to contribute to promoting Polish art and culture. My goal is to enable Polish students to enjoy Polish culture while being abroad, as well as to encourage international students to get to know our country and its fascinating cultural heritage.

As a member of the Polish Society Committee, I would like to focus on:
- organising many cultural events, such as film screenings and literary meetings (also in collaboration with other UCL societies)
- working on the UCL Leaders 2022 conference
- organising meetings and interviews with fascinating people from various disciplines, such as business, science and culture
- re-activating society in order to establish vibrant community of Polish students in London

I would be honoured to become the Welfare Officer of the UCL Polish Society. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions: [email protected]
