I’m a 3rd year Pharmacy student and will be Applying for Treasurer!!
What will I be doing?
- Will ensure that more events take place every year, even organizing during busy exam periods and reading weeks
- Will communicate with committee members from poker societies in different universities to try to organize bigger inter-collegiate tournaments
- Will help in pulling together other societies for more collaborative events to improve society image
- Will try to hold teaching sessions for more complex games like PLO (Pot-Limit Omaha) to diversify and attract more people
- Will keep in contact with alumni and invite them to events
WHY ME?
- I come to almost every event whether it is a standard, bounty or Showtime!
- Through my experiences as an intern in a large pharmaceutical company, I have developed excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- I always enjoy helping out committee members and over my 3 years at UCL, know exactly how the society works
- I help in organizing cash games all the time
- Stay till after I’ve stacked or got stacked by any of the Rohans in cash games ☹
- Love shoving top full house into QUADs (standard right?!)
To conclude, I will help improve the UCL poker society further and make sure it attracts more participants than ever before!!

I believe that the skills and experience I have gained correlate well with the qualities required in the role of Treasurer. My strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ambitious nature honed through my positions of Under Secretary General at Tricity Model United Nations 2019 have allowed me to develop a balance between being a team player and confident leader, which I think is one of the key characteristics of societies’ member.

On top of that, being Finance Officer at UCL Leaders Conference showed me how important it is to be goal-oriented and persistent. These qualities enabled me to secure over 14k in funding as well as resulted in managing to book a unique speaker for our conference- Rafał Brzoska, CEO of Inpost which went public this year in Amsterdam.

Aside from that, I’m a fast learner that is willing to face new challenges and that’s one of the main reasons why I’d love to get involved in this society. I treat it as a unique way to learn something new both when it comes to certain skills but also to experience serving in new role.

Being a hobbyist poker player myself, I feel like my love for the game and skills will enable me to set up amazing events such as poker tournaments, workshops with well-known poker players as well as a number of socials where UCL's poker community would be able to compete.
