Hello! My name is Irene and I am a 2nd-year Chemistry and Management student at UCL. I have been a member of Pi Media for one year and I have been involved with content published in Pi Online and Pi Magazine. Having worked with amazing people (virtually) over the past year, made me want to be even more involved with the Pi Media community and apply for the Welfare Officer role.

I love coming in contact with different people and cultures, that is why I plan to have an active role in the community and support all of its members. I aim to engage all members in active discussions and having seen the focus that Pi Media has been giving in wellbeing, I would like to introduce further welfare resources for the society. I found the series “Happiness 101” as an introduction to well-being impressive.

The way I see it, it would be a great experience to further focus and invite people to show their experiences, the ways they escape, and practice well-being. This year we all realized the significance of mental health and balance in our lives, which will be my focus point as a Welfare Officer, finding balance in between university, social life, societies, and private time. It is crucial for me to enhance the communication in our community, but also the involvement of all members. Having worked in welfare positions in my school and being president of the student council, I have gained experience and would do my best to reinforce such skills to help the Pi Media community.
