Wei Chen
Hi! My name is Hannah and I am a first-year History student. I am running for events officer with the aim of strengthening Pi Media’s sense of community. The pandemic has deprived us of closer connections within the society, hence I aim to dedicate time for us to socialise and learn more about journalism together. My main aims are:

- Work with co-events officer and welfare officer to host regular socials and welfare activities
Facilitate interaction and encourage creative ideas that expand our projects. (An example: festival-themed socials for more relaxed exchange. )
- Create regular, affordable events
I will deliver more interactive events for members to polish a range of journalism skills such as research and writing.
- Host more collaborative events with other societies to diversify our experience
Actively reach out to different societies for collaboration. Widen our network to foster more UCL-oriented writing that can increase our readership.

Panel discussions were significant in raising my awareness about developments in the journalism industry, and writing for Pi Magazine increased my appreciation for the hard work behind our major projects. However, I hope to curate personal events for us to feel more engaged. I will also ensure the plans easily adapt to any shifting restrictions. To get everyone more involved, I will regularly seek feedback and incorporate them into the plans - it is pivotal for your preferences to reflect in our activities.
