Muhammad Jamshaid
As a regular attendee of the Pak soc events this year, I nuanced that the Charity Officer would entail for me to personify with devotion the cultural heritage that make up the outlook and variegated drapery of our country.
My objective is clear: to create a space where everyone feels secure and homely to come to. A safe space for our multiple diverse cultures to meet unitedly and share their anecdote. Be it our diverse cultural Languages, music or dance, art or acting, it is supreme to accept that these forms our UCL Pakistan Society. Be you Punjabis, Pashtun, Balochis, Sindhis, or Kashmiris, your society has gotten it all!
The foremost goal is to introduce guest-speaker sessions related to Economy, Politics, and other sectors. Furthermore, more frequent boat parties, qawwali nights, etc. to boost social interaction post-pandemic are also further addition to our goals. A plan is also to create a forum to make it easier for the members to present any recommendation for the society, or any of their problem which the society can help you to solve.
Living away from home at a university can be tribulation for many, at times. The UCL Pakistan Society should be your go-to place. It is a family, a home-away from home. What we need as now, is to be able to unequivocally express ourselves to the people on the same page as us, leaving the session feeling better after that boring lecture you had during the day.
You and I unitedly can definitely attain that!
Yours,
AJ
