Being a part of RUMS Netball since joining UCL has had a huge positive impact on my uni experience. I love playing netball but also socialising with members and being a part of a supportive team. It is the friendliness and warmth of the club that I hope to channel in the role of Rec Captain.

Being in the 5th team was an amazing and unforgettable experience due to the friendships formed with my team members on and off the court. It is this social aspect of netball that is especially important to me and what I value most. I hope to integrate this into the rec team by organising many friendly matches and social events, bringing everyone together, ensuring they feel welcomed and most importantly, having fun!

I enjoy training with the 5th, 6th and rec team. It is a great opportunity to get to know other members of the club whilst playing netball in a less competitive and more relaxed environment. I like playing with members of different abilities during the training sessions. If elected, I would encourage rec members to participate in training sessions and other RUMS Netball events throughout the year such as volunteering, tutorials and socials. It is a great way to bond with other members and create long lasting friendships across the club.

A key aspect of being Rec Captain that appeals to me is the involvement in the decision making of the club. Being a member of the committee would allow me to see just how this fantastic club is so successfully run!
