Hi everyone. Having been a part of the social netball club for the past 2 years, I know how vital it is to pursue a sport that you love without having to commit to playing on one of the competitive teams. I feel like attending social netball really helped build my confidence when meeting new people and ensured that I kept active during uni when I could have easily turned into a slob.

I would love to be Netball Development Officer because I am committed to organising fun sessions that can be enjoyed by players of all abilities from total beginners to more advanced players. In the future, my aim is to go into teaching and this role would provide me with the perfect opportunity to develop my experience through coaching others.

A goal of mine next year would be to make social netball more sociable. This would include going out for food and drinks as a group to create a sense of community within the social squad. Also, I would like to act as a friendly, welcoming figure to bridge the gap between the social and competitive teams. Not being part of one of the competitive teams should definitely not make anyone feel as if they aren’t as much of a valued member of UCNC as others. To avoid this, I would love to encourage more social netballers to attend the weekly socials at Loop as they are a great way of meeting other club members and enjoying university life to the full.

See you all on the Loop party bus next year!
