Greetings everyone :-) I hope you are all well!

My name is Yanghe, and I am a first-year student of computer science at UCL. I am applying for the symphony orchestra manager role and I am really grateful if you can vote for me! Please let me briefly introduce myself: I LOVE TRUMPET! I have been playing the trumpet for twelve years! On top of that, I also like performing in symphony orchestra, because the feeling of coordinating and cooperating with many other members to excellently perform(mostly enjoy) a piece is amazing! And this is one of the reasons that I choose to apply for the role--instead of a passing interest, I want to continue my enthusiasm and love for symphony orchestra further.

Back in high school, I was the president of my high school's symphony orchestra, and in charge of weekly rehearsal on Thursday afternoon and make publicity about the orchestra to recruit new members. I gained a lot of experience of how to manage a symphony orchestra, and I am pretty sure that I can fulfill the duty of the manager role well!

Even though the pandemic messed up many things and made us unable to attend activities like the UCOpera(I really wish it could go well this year, many members and myself spent a lot of time preparing the audition video!), but I believe everything will go on the right track next year. If I'm successfully elected as the manager, I will try my best to provide the best orchestra experience ever for every orchestra member!!! Thanks!

This year I think many of us have realised the privilege we have had in the past to be able to make music with others. I want to stand for this orchestra manager position as I am passionate about music. I also have really enjoyed being a part of the music society albeit virtually this year.
Having played in many orchestras in the past, I know that the key to a successful orchestra and orchestra rehearsal is good organisation and communication. I believe that my previous experience as leader of different orchestras has taught me the importance of working closely with other members, listening and taking on their ideas. I enjoy meeting and working with other people and will be proactive in solving problems if they arise.
My priorities as orchestra manger would be to help integrate current freshers into the society as I know from personal experience that they have had a particularly difficult time settling into university and to foster a sense of community in this orchestra which has been unable to play for such a long time.
