In running for President, I understand that I am undertaking a demanding challenge. Yet, I believe I have the enthusiasm, experience and organisation required for this role. As an active member of Music Society for three years and your Vice-President this year, I have seen first-hand the diversity of ensembles and the importance of representing them all in an organised manner.
As Symphony Orchestra Concertmaster, I have extensive experience in leading one of UCL Music’s largest ensembles as well as liaising with our Conductor, Charles Peebles. Furthermore, as Vice-President, the opportunity to communicate with a variety of ensembles, from Choirs to Concert Band, has provided me with an invaluable oversight into managing the society as a whole.
Despite this year being very different, as VP I assisted with making important decisions whilst aiming to appropriately manage our members’ expectations, and communicated this regularly via newsletters and on Facebook. Using this insight, next year I will strive to lead Music Society in a streamlined and transparent fashion, representing our committee and members, as well as maintain our strong relationship with the SU.
I would be honoured to be your next President, leading the committee in coordinating a society I absolutely love.
Hi guys I’m Will and I’d love to be President of the Music Society. I’m studying history and going into my third and final year and have loved being part of the Music Society for the past two. It’s provided some of the best moments of my time at UCL. Being involved in the Chamber Choir, Symphony Chorus and Opera really made my first year, and although we haven’t been able to do too much recently, I can’t wait to get doing everything again next year.
I’d really value the opportunity that the role of President would provide to give back to the society that I’ve so enjoyed being a part of. This year I’ve had the opportunity to manage the Chamber Choir, which has been a great pleasure. We were able to do some singing in September and October when I held auditions and rehearsals and organised for the group to give a Remembrance service at the beautiful St. Stephen Walbrook. I’m really looking forward to May when we’ll hopefully be able to perform at the LFCCM. I’d love to contribute further to the Society as President. Music has always been a big part of my life and I’d bring that passion to the role. Thanks so much.
