Hi everyone! I'm a second year Population Health Sciences student and am nominating myself to serve as Treasurer for the society. Due to my studies, I am keenly aware of how significant of an issue mental health is within young adults, and wish to address the stigma surrounding the topic as part of the Mental Health Society.

Having been a member of the student support and wellbeing team at UCL this year, I am well acquainted with providing students with support with any emotional needs, facilitating non-judgmental peer-to-peer conversations, listening to any concerns and difficulties students might be experiencing and signposting students to relevant mental health resources if necessary. I therefore hope to do the same for members of the society if elected, and draw upon my experience to design events focused on addressing key issues such as stress and anxiety that many of us inevitably experience at university.

As Treasurer, I would allocate funding towards inviting a greater number of mental health professionals to deliver talks on how to best cope with the challenges of balancing our studies and personal life at university. Having served as Treasurer for multiple societies during my time at UCL, I also have extensive experience managing finances for societies and liaising with the student union to organise events, apply for grants, and carry out reimbursements, and I hope to do the same in an efficient manner for the Mental Health Society if elected.
