I believe that I am a responsible, organised person, who would be very committed to the role. I have been involved with the Medical Society previously as an events officer and a head of tutorials, both roles which required me to work as a team and assign and prioritise task appropriately.

The weekly MedSoc bulletin is an immensely useful source of information and opportunities for medical students of all years. However, in order to further improve it, I would like to create a short initial section dedicated to the key dates of events that will happen that week. This would then make it more concise. I would also like to organise the announcements according to topic so it will be easier for students to find what they are interested in. Furthermore, since the bulletin might not reach every student, especially first year students who might have not signed up yet, I propose that we advertise the bulletin more extensively via social media.

As an Events Officer for Medical Society’s Research and Academic Medicine, I understand how difficult it can be to advertise events and therefore I am excited to work together with the different subcommittees and help broaden their reach by giving them a larger voice through the Medical Society’s social media.

Through this role I hope to be a point of contact between the medical society and medical students, listening to their opinions and, based on these, help guide improvement.
