Dhanya Ravi
A big part of my efforts in the coming year will be making up for lost time together.
One of my main aims is to help students navigate the ever-changing situation. Emphasis on ever-changing, meaning every plan needs a plan B and flexibility will be key again in this coming year.
With fingers crossed, we can bring back MSoc’s flagship social events which I’m sure everyone has missed, and I’d love to bring in some new activities catered to help the individual years bond and connect the Malaysian community in UCL as a whole in light of the situation.
Wellbeing-wise, I would like to be the shoulder to lean on for members as the MSoc has been for me the past year. Some ideas I’ve had include regular check-ins with families and tackling the housing dilemma shared by many since making friends this year hasn’t exactly been a walk in the park.
I aim to connect Malaysians not just within our society but externally as well and provide more opportunities to members to participate in external events by making sure you know what’s happening before it happens.
Lastly, helping members navigate their time in UCL is my ultimate goal, as a family does. Allowing seniors to guide members through a series of course-based newsletters would be a step in the right direction for this to be achieved.
I have no doubt my time in leadership positions make me an excellent candidate and my time organising events in the RD Programme taught me how things work within the MSoc as well.
Thank you.
