Adanna Nnajiofor
Hi! My name is Adanna and I am a first year Biomedical Sciences student. My experience organising social events, including a charity event for people suffering from dementia, as well as hosting and successfully executing a talent show fundraiser in my school have led me to believe that I would be able to bring something to the table as a social secretary in the Life Sciences society, therefore making me a suitable candidate.
I believe that social interaction is a large part of our university life. As a fresher, I felt frustrated earlier the year as the dreaded lockdown really impeded us from meeting our fellow course mates through social events, however through this role, this is something I would aim to achieve.
I find pleasure in organizing events and hope that I will be able to encourage more life scientists to get involved. My main ambitions if I got this role would be to organise fun events in advance to ensure that everyone is informed of the plans.
Given the current restrictions, although options for activities and events may seem limited, I will endeavour to make use of all the resources available in order to provide quality events, talks and virtual games nights to guarantee that everyone has equal opportunity in enjoying these events.
Ultimately, I want to make the remainder of the year as enjoyable as possible by organizing appealing events for everyone.
Thank you!
