I am running for Social Secretary for the Law for All society because I wish to give back to this society what has been offered to me. I believe I would be able to confidently participate and help organise this society, as well as create a friendly environment for all members, where one would be able to learn about commercial and legal issues intertwined, and never be afraid to ask about things they don't yet know about.

I believe I would make a good Social Secretary because I am flexible and organised. As your Social Secretary, I would implement the following :
- a social every two weeks to help create a friendly atmosphere, as well as in-person meetings when the health restrictions are lifted (hopefully soon!)
- Commercial awareness meetings as often as possible to keep in mind the news and stay aware of how they could impact the legal sector
- Continue to organise and participate in Podcasts and Newsletter, similar to the ones currently received weekly as I not only really enjoy them, but also find them very helpful in understanding diverse influences in the legal sector today

I more generally hope that this role will be the opportunity for me to meet all members of this society :)

Sanjana Panicker
Hi! I'm Sanjana Panicker, a first year Management Science student and an aspiring entrepreneur/lawyer; and I'm running for Social Secretary.

As a person, I'm an extrovert, organised and work well under pressure. Prior to joining UCL, I've been the Head Girl at my school in Dubai and have held several other leadership positions at other clubs such as Toastmasters Intl., Basketball school team etc. Leadership roles not only push me to perform more holistically but also allows me to make a positive change in other's lives and the system through my skills. My social skills further make me an ideal candidate.

Studying management with a legal passion and having held posts before, LfA is the perfect place for me to use my knowledge and skills. As Social Secretary, I'll ensure to originate, plan, promote and execute social events/excursions for members. This includes liaising with other officers to promote wide-ranging events, ensuring effective communication, creating a friendly and inclusive environment for all and pushing for more social activity through zoom socials and 24/7 group chats. I've been part of several event committees in school, held the post of 'Head of Events' at a charity organisation and have a good social media presence from past experience which will further aid me in this role.

Thank you for reading my manifesto and I hope y'all will give me a chance to prove my abilities. Feel free to contact me on LinkedIn or Instagram @sanjanapanicker anytime!
