Lacrosse was the first society I joined when I came to UCL, I played for the 2nds, and one of the highlights of my first year was getting to know everyone on my team through socials and our BUCS matches. Sadly, this year Lacrosse hasn’t quite been able to be the same, but it has been amazing to see the sense of community that has stayed in these difficult times. As Welfare Officer I would aim to continue to build the great network we already have, and make sure everyone in the club is happy, well and feels included (in particular the current newcomers who may have not been able to participate much this year due to the pandemic). I hope to raise awareness about issues relating to wellbeing and mental health, as well as organise fun activities within the society that promote wellbeing and have positive impacts on the mental health of our members. Having attended art school before UCL I am a very creative person, and I hope I can bring this creativity to the role to make looking after your wellbeing enjoyable for all of our members.

Hello!! Sorry if this is low-key the exact same description as before but we move... Even in the times of a global pandemic, the lacrosse club consistently offered welfare support, weekly socials, and exercise be it virtually or a few in-person practices. Both out of a love for the sport and admiration for those who stepped up to the plate to keep the lacrosse club going this year, I would love to be a part of the committee. I realize that I don't have the most experience with UCL sports being a first year, however I was the captain of my high school lacrosse, cross country, and ski team and believe that I would be capable and eager to handle the work that comes with the position of welfare officer. In the context of providing support, I genuinely love interacting with people and like to think I am approachable, so be it a crisis or just the need to have a chat I'll be there! Finally, props to the tenacity demonstrated by the leadership team this past year and I look forward to potentially being a part of it!! Live, love, lax...all the best :))
