Hello! Since learning to knit almost 10 years ago, I am still amazed at how relaxing and social this activity can be. I am running for Treasurer because, not only do I have an affiKnitty for all things yarn, but I also want the opportunity to be able to give back to this society and help shape it for the better. I hope to be able to share my crafts with the society and teach tricks and techniques that I have learnt over the years. I plan to work hard to bring a multitude of benefits to KnitSoc by making it as enjoyable and engaging as possible. My intention is to help run sessions (hopefully in person soon) and continue to bring people together who want to learn how to knit or just want a place to continue their piece. Rest assured that my budget planning would allow everyone to access a variety of yarn, in addition to snacks and coffee/tea at sessions. As Treasurer, I would never let the KnitSoc locker run dry!

Hello, I'm Ruiyun and currently am doing Bsc Mathematics. I'm kinda good with numbers and hoping to make the best of whatever the budget we are having. Though my ultimate goal is to lure people into historical knitting/ crocheting because it's great fun.

Knitting Society has been a major highlight of my first year and I am keen to work with the committee to continue this into next year. As Collaborations Officer this year, I understand the work and planning that is behind the events that we run and believe this puts me in good stead to take on the role of Treasurer. Previously I've organised events for a wide audience with a limited budget and hope to utilise this experience. The social aspect of knitting is easily one of my favourite things and the society's great events are something I always look forward to. It's an amazing time to learn new skills and meet new people so I hope to work with everyone on the society to create events that we all love and enjoy!
