Victoria Lin
Hi! My name is Victoria Lin, an Anthropology major but also a dedicated and active member, dance instructor, and showcase leader at UCL K-POP society, and I am here to run for the position of your next Welfare/Communications Officer.

Rushing coursework, logging into Zoom, keeping up with socials… especially during these trying times, the pressure to excel is so great. As your Welfare/Communications Officer, my first priority is your welfare. To know that you feel supported and inspired by being in K-POP Society. I know that there are silent voices that may need a supported platform to present their works. I firmly believe in equity, and my emphasis lies in building that very platform for our members to comfortably share their stories, work and experiences, regardless of race, gender, sexuality and class.

K-Pop society, for me, has been a getaway, a community, and a way of reflection, and I hope it will continue to be the same for you by:
1. INCREASING AWARENESS OF MENTAL HEALTH AND SUPPORT
2. COMBATTING DISCRIMINATION
3. STUDENT AND STUDY COMMUNITY

‘Welfare’ is often used as a buzzword, but it needs to be more. And I can change that. These three main points are what I intend to develop and follow through as your Welfare/Communications Officer:

1.Support Packs (Mentor/Mentee scheme!)
2.Advice and Support (Speak Yourself Sessions!)
3.Your Voice (‘Post-box’ system)
