Having been in choirs since I was six, I am very aware of the joy and sense of community they can create. The jazz choir has been through a lot during this pandemic and I am keen to continue to extend the same level of support to every member. My priorities as choir manager will be to foster a welcoming atmosphere and provide accessible options for learning songs so that all needs and music reading abilities can be catered for. I will also use my organisation and communication skills to provide clear support for any performances in future and work in partnership with the rest of jazz society to maximise collaboration opportunities. Thank you for reading!

Hi I’m Prim. I’m a fifth-year medical student and this will be the third year that I’ve been part this great society.
If elected, I aim to
- Recruit new members by regularly promoting through social media and encouraging new members to join at any time of the year.
- Organise social events within the choir for members to get to know each other e.g. a quiz night/ a trip to a local gig and promote the society’s social events so that choir members feel comfortable joining and included as part of the whole society.
- Promote solo opportunities and encourage members to participate and develop as singers. Work with workshop manager to organise workshops for singers.
Experience in management: I have organised local and international academic conferences including the Mental Health Crisis and the AIDS Impact Conference in 2019. I also organised my previous choir’s tour to Brugge in 2017 where I was responsible for planning all the trip’s arrangements.
Plus, I have been a tutor of Medical Society, giving regular tutorials for medical students, and part of a research group where I show great commitment outside my degree and learn to manage my time effectively. I believe the skills I have acquired over the years would make me a suitable candidate for this role.
I’d love to continue making this choir a great place for like-minded people to meet, sing, have fun and be part of this supportive community for singers. Please consider voting me as your next choir manager. Thank you!
