Jai Jinendra and Pranam. My name is Aishwarya and I am running for the position of Treasurer. As a deeply spiritual person, Jainism has been, is, and always will be a central part of my life. It brings me great joy to be part of a society with like-minded individuals!
If elected, my role as Treasurer would involve working closely with the President and other societies. In line with the constitution document’s Aims and Objectives, I hope to promote new collaborations between UCL Jain society and other societies, whilst maintaining our existing inter-university networks. This will allow for greater variety in lectures on Jainism-related topics, more homeless drives, celebratory events for religious festivals, as well as more Games Nights and social events (especially after the past year)! I have previous experience of being elected Team Director for a social action project where I worked with a new charity.
From a numerical standpoint, I have completed internship experiences in: ‘Finance and Professional services’ and ‘Business, Operations and Marketing’. Highly organised and meticulous in my approach, I would be sure to mitigate potential threats to the society’s financial system.
I hope my manifesto highlights my enthusiasm for this society and role!

I have been a Jain my entire life and was surrounded by Jain people much of my life so I understand the core philosophies of Jainism which are to remain peaceful, not hurt another being, and keep away from hurtful emotions. The main purpose of our lives is to have enough positive karma to achieve 'Moksh'. However, whenever I tried to question some things and reason some of the practices we followed I was always shut down and so one of my agendas will be to spread the teachings of Jainism and allow people to find their reason to follow certain values and practices fully knowing the reasons behind them. Please vote for me.
