Lorenzo Tendron
Ciao raga!☺ I’m Lorenzo, ESPS student! I strongly believe I fit this role as I committed several weekly hours to craft and deliver engaging Italian classes remotely. My commitment to Italian society enhanced my attention to students’ aims to transmit the love of Italian in a fun way. This is why I want to prioritise committee and members' connection. The first-hand experience I developed as diplomacy society’s head of events boosted my ability to take early initiatives, whilst ensuring all agendas coincided between UCL's, our society's and the speakers’.

I aim to take these competences to reveal astounding Italian treasures to YOU. Inviting inspiring Italian personalities from Enrico Letta to Mario Monti, or leaders of successful family-owned businesses, from the Italian eyewear or pharmaceutical industries to food and fashion, are amongst my dreams for this society.

Partnering with other UCL language societies, I'd love to organise an annual gala dinner inviting a leading expert from each society’s main country to bind our language communities, reinforce our UCL spirit and inspire all of us! Transmitting Italian culture on the other hand requires inter-uni Italian societies to unite. Partnering first with Imperial, King’s and LSE Italian societies, I’d aim to each invite one Italian expert/leader for a panel event on their careers, based on societies' polls to connect committee, members, and guests. Binding. Inspiring. Partnering! Let's move onwards together!☺
Guglielmo Santamaria
It has been my privilege to have been your President through the hard times of the past year. Despite the distance we have been together through our social events, our ever successful language classes, and our events with prestigious speakers such as Minister Poletti and Professor Cottarelli (and I cannot wait to reveal more from the list of speakers we have planned for this spring term!).
The past year has given me the opportunity to learn and improve on my leadership, as well as the chance to build important and lasting relationships and projects. Important testimony of these are the collaboration started with the Italian Embassy (look out for an upcoming event!) and the commitment to collaboration amongst the Italian Societies in the ISSN, which has resulted in more and more event opportunities, some of which you have already seen, but many of which are to come.
But this is just the beginning. To be confirmed as your President would give me the chance to develop this projects into long-lasting positive change for our society and to reap the fruits of the hard work sown this year.
Finally, it would allow me to live the true experience for which I ran a year ago and realise my best plans and dreams for us, from in-person events and socials to trips and classes and more.
Grazie a tutti!
