Jasper Kennett
My name is Jasper Kennett. I’m a first-year economics student and an analyst at the Investment Society’s fund.

As VP of Outreach, I would prioritise interactive and opportunistic events whist incorporating outreach aspects throughout them.

Firstly, we have to ensure that in-person events are actually useful and enjoyable. As a committee member I will focus on maximising interactive networking opportunities and fun social events to bring us together after such a rough year.

At the same time our events should also aim to extend our knowledge to those who are interested in investing, regardless of degree or experience. This can be done by hosting open workshops where anyone can learn investment basics. We could even expand this even further, beyond UCL students, and try to engage with keen students from all backgrounds.

Diversity within our society can also increase at a faster rate. I plan on organising more diversity-focused events where leaders in the investment industry can give advice on how to succeed in an historically non-minority industry.

I am an easy-going guy with a commitment to ensuring UCL IS delivers great events and helps everyone enjoy the world of investing. I’d appreciate your vote and won’t waste the opportunity!
Kunal Saraf
My previous experience as an executive for UCLIS has prepared me perfectly for this role. I have learnt how to build strong relationships and have developed the ability to communicate effectively. I am confident in my ability to increase traction for UCLIS during the freshers week by ensuring smooth correspondence with incoming students. I will further try and increase engagement for UCLIS by collaborating with the marketing department to come up with innovative marketing strategies, and by ensuring that the departmental talks early in the academic year generate enough traction and set the society up for long term success. I also believe I can maintain good relations with the UCLIS alumni, and organise multiple alumni panels for various fields in the finance industry to ensure that members can get first-hand insights about their chosen careers.

I am particularly excited about arranging the alumni dinner, which is one of the most important events for the society. Organising events for UCLIS last year in uncertain times has prepared me for this dynamic task, and I believe I will be able to organise and deliver a memorable event that adds significant value to members and alumni, irrespective of the event being online or in-person.

I will also try and propel the charity initiatives of UCLIS, and ensure that we make real change in the community as well. Lastly, I will try and increase collaboration with other societies within and outside UCL as well.
