Events & Socials: Two fundamental aspects of the human experience which Coronavirus took away from all of us and which I will be bringing back if elected as Vice-President. I will ensure that the next academic year is packed with a range of in-person events: from sophisticated soirees to informal interviews. My priority is to maximise your exposure to leaders in the investment field, build connections and knowledge beyond the rudimentary and create unique, invaluable learning opportunities. As Vice-President of Events and Socials, it is also my priority that you have a good time whilst doing so. Thus, my vision for UCLIS Events & Socials goes beyond talks and presentations. For example, a workshop simulation of 'Your First 100 Days' after investing in a piece of Real Estate or a UCL-funded program offering investment stipends to students keen on gaining real-world experience of the stock market.

Though you may not know me, know my CV. I have served on a number of leadership committees at my school and have therefore organised a multitude of events. Event planning is not a hobby, but my passion. I am driven, determined, open-minded, creative and not to mention, an active investor. Should you vote for me as your Vice-President of Events and Socials, you can look forward to a series of informative and exciting events; events which will provide you with a foot (or two) through the investment door, prepare you for a post-covid career and score you a seat on Wall street!

My name is Emerald and I study SSQM. Since joining UCLIS, I have participated in almost every event held by the society and familiarised myself by immersing in such events to better understand the needs and wants of society members. Given such experiences, I believe I am the best candidate for this role, as I have an abundance of experience in organising society events and collaborating with different departments - being the organiser for multiple special events in UCL CSSA, as well as leading shooting competitions with prestigious UK university Rifle Clubs in sixth form, I played ardent roles in coming up with workshop ideas and planning the logistics as well as networking. Furthermore, I have developed the ability to react swiftly to unexpected situations and work under tight deadlines as well as strong communication and interpersonal skills.

If I were elected, I will
1) improve the interconnectivity of UCLIS from an array of different levels, through networking events and skills workshops
2) encourage partnerships and collaborations with other exceptional societies and firms, with the aim of helping UCLIS members succeed in the financial industry and enhance the development of new skills.

Thank you for voting for me.

Hey everyone! I’m Sara, a first year PPE student and First Year Representative at the UCLIS. This past year I have had the opportunity to work within different teams and meet the hard working committee of this society. It has been such a rewarding experience and I look forward to continue working with this group of talented people. My aim as VP of Events and Socials is to ensure the continuation of the standard of UCLIS’s signature events such as the ‘Career Masterclass Series’ and the ‘Finance Academy’. Moreover I am determined to provide members a variety of top quality social and networking opportunities as Covid-19 restrictions start to ease: these include alumni and committee events, as well as other partnered events together with the UCL Guild. I want to make-up for the social aspect that this past year lacked whilst still providing a balance of on-line events that will prepare you extensively for your future careers in the financial sector. If you vote for me, I will use all the skills and knowledge I have gained through my time at UCLIS and as organizer for high school balls (+2000 people) to ensure the highest financial content and networking events and socials at UCL!

Hi guys! I am standing for the position of the Vice President of Events and Socials. If elected my priorities would be to organise more inter-university events and socials focussed not only on having greater networking opportunities but also on fun and amusement. I would also like to bring in the concept of an Investment Fest where students from our university participate in various investment and business related competitions with students from other universities of the city and are able to exhibit their skills and potential. I would also ensure that the fun of the offline events that we missed due to the pandemic this year will be compensated with plenty of them next year. I have previously been the events head of various events in my school and thus have the experience of organising such events. So if you vote for me, I am sure that you will have an eventful year ahead. Cheers!
