Hi my name is Simran Malhi and I am running for the position of social secretary as I feel like it would be both an enjoyable and rewarding role. After taking a gap year I developed many skills, one of them being great team working skills following my job and volunteering roles during this year. In addition, I also built upon my communication skills. These two in particular I feel would help me successfully fulfil this role, as it will enable me to work well in the team and communicate efficiently with the rest of the committee. Along with this, I love socialising with everyone and I am an outgoing person who has fun regardless of the event, so I will ensure that you all too have a good time, especially at Dhamaal and Jashn ;) If I was elected I would like to increase the number of social events, along with the diversity of the events we hold, so that there is something for everyone. I would also aim to help increase promotion and advertisement of these events to increase outreach and involvement, resulting in bigger and better events. Above all, I would want to ensure that everyone in both the society and the committee have a lot of fun, following any social events I would be involved in organising, after this year I feel like we all deserve it! Thank you for reading my manifesto, vote Simran :)

Ladies and gents, it goes without saying that this year's socials have been ruined by Covid, and as Social Sec I promise to make motives bang like they used to. The legendary club nights will hopefully make a return and make up for everything we've missed out on this year, as well as film and games nights to give people the opportunity to meet new people, make new friends and create one big happy family at Indian Soc.

I will definitely keep things active and organised, whether it is through social media or word of mouth, and those of you that know me know that I'm always up for motives and meeting new people. We will also be doing as many inter-society collabs and I know for a fact they'll slap as hard as Dr Dre ft Snoop. As a fresher during Covid I have realised the importance of involving as many as people as possible, and if you vote me I'll try my best to make Indian Soc a fun and supportive community full of good vibes. Here's to an exciting year ahead!

I am proud to be Indian with an admiration for our dynamic and vibrant culture. I want to plan events which reflect that culture, through incorporating our beautiful history, music and food.

For those of you who don’t know me, I am well known for my love for planning and being organised. I look forward to planning our exciting large-scale events, Jashn and Dhamaal, making them even better and bigger than before. My previous experience in team skills roles will aid in planning regular society events suitable for everyone’s preferences, whether it be Indian cooking nights, Desi club nights or continuing our much-loved Bollywood movie nights. I will ensure that we run events that are welcoming in order to help expand our society family so that everyone can have a good time, walking away even more hyped for our upcoming events!

As a gap-year student I spent most of my time expanding my knowledge of things to do around London, finding new clubs and my personal favourite eating out, all of which are things we’ve lost out on during lockdown. I love to have a good time and I’m always ready to vibe and socialise with everyone, qualities which are key for this role. I stand by the fact that we will continue to be the society with the BEST events across London, and I am eager to start organising these!

P.S. As Social Sec one of my key aims would be to convince people that Gol Gappe is the correct term, and not Pani Puri :)
