Astha Kothari
Namaste everyone! I'm Astha…naam toh sunha hi hoga. I’m a first-year mathematics student who’s ready to take this society to new heights! Having grown my socials such as TikTok to 62,000+ and Instagram to more than 3,600 followers, I believe I have the skills necessary to thrive in this role. In the past, I have taken responsibility of promoting many successful charity events which demonstrate my creativity, communication and negotiation skills.

My priorities, if elected, include:
- Crafting material to expand outreach within the society to increase the diversity of backgrounds by collaborating with other UCL societies
- Listening to the members to improve the aesthetics and branding of the society
- Posting regularly on social media platforms to get greater engagement
- Making room for more informal events to give members a chance to interact (regardless of their location)

The previous years have done a great job upholding the name of UCL's biggest cultural society and I would be honoured to be a part of the team. I am fully committed to put all my efforts into this because…don’t underestimate the power of a common man :)

Hi, my name is Isha, I am a first year Law student and I will be applying for marketing director. Over the last year I have really enjoyed being part of this society and taking part in the virtual events. During such an unusual time, where much of the year was spent in lockdowns and under other COVID restrictions, the society was able to attract many students due to its great marketing on social media pages such as Instagram. I feel that I am very well equipped to take on this role in the society due to my many instances of experience.

Firstly, I was in charge of sales and marketing at a Christmas party organised for the disabled community in my local area. I used social media alongside creative posters to attract over 200 attendees. Simultaneously, I was also social media and marketing manager of the Young Enterprise in my sixth form, and I used social media such as Facebook and Instagram to boost our sales.

A key requirement for such a role is time management. I am currently working a part-time job as an administrator at the COVID vaccine hub as well as focusing on my law degree, so I have developed great organisational and time-management skills.

Marketing is essential in growing any society! With my endless marketing experience, I aim to develop UCL Indian Society to its full potential!

As an independent artist that has charted in the Top 20 iTunes Pop Charts using my own marketing techniques, I believe I would be a perfect fit for this role! Over the last five years, I have designed and released regular content (using Canva, Photoshop & Final Cut Pro) and analysed social media (Instagram, Facebook and YouTube) analytics to reach my target audience. Recently, I've also created viral TikTok content! I have organised many events and handled campaign posters, videos and marketing for my EP Launch Party. Furthermore, over the last two years, I have released monthly YouTube music videos, which I shot and edited myself using Final Cut.

As much as I love the current social media management, I think we could regularly release more engaging content to reach a broader range of UCL Indian Society - especially on Instagram and TikTok!

Overall, as a motivated person who has ample first-hand marketing experience and wishes to pursue Marketing as a career, I believe I am perfectly suited for this position! As Marketing Director, I wish to collaborate with other committee members to bring out the best of UCL Indian Society!

P.S. You know I'm serious about UCL Indian Society when I hyped up Dhamaal before I was even a UCL student ?

P.P.S. You can't get more Indian than me. I sing in 10 different Indian languages ?
