Immunology Society: Vice President

Hi! I’m Yanna Pusica, a penultimate year BSc Biochemistry student. As one of the founding members and Outreach Officer of the UCL Immunology Society, I’ve gained substantial experience establishing relationships and partnerships with current individuals within our target audience, organization, and professors/researchers from other universities to inform and help students pursue internship and placement opportunities. I have personally contact and formed strong contacts with some of the world's leading researchers and doctors in immunology and invited them to present their life's work at UCL. During my time as Outreach Officer of the society, I have also been able to secure Nobel Laureates and Lasker Recipients to come to UCL 2021/2022 and speak about the future of the research field and current innovation in immunology. I have been able to achieve this due to my strong involvement in research, where I am currently investigating autoantibody biomarkers in neurodegenerative diseases and effects of COVID-19. Further, with Ivan Yang, Media & Technology Officer, I have updated and developed a new and modern website for our society, have helped with the development of posters, organization of events and administrative responsibilities, and our society's announcements on the Biosciences Noticeboard. My past experiences and ambition are what this society needs, someone that will help this new society to grow, prosper and attract more members and speakers throughout the world.
