Mihaillo Pusica
Hi everyone! My name is Mihaillo, and I’m a second-year BSc Biochemistry student from Toronto, Canada.

Even though the opportunity to be a Treasurer for different societies hasn’t been available to me, I’ve had loads of experience that would make me a great candidate. To be a successful Treasurer, organization, reliability, attention to detail, and keeping well to deadlines are all essential skills that are required. I’ve always been invested in extracurriculars at school and co-founded/led societies whenever given the slightest hint of interest from peers. Being goal oriented and driven are few of many qualities that I possess that would benefit our society. I’d love to help keep us organized with events, oversee expenditures, and keep a file on all actions taken by new/existing members.

In order for a society to be successful, it must grow. In order to attract more students, more buzz over planned events has to be created. By raising the total budget of our society, I’d be given the opportunity to organize various interactive events. Fundraisers and sponsorships are two of many ways in which I plan on growing the society’s budget to hold workshops, among other opportunities in educating existing and new members of all the wonders of our field. Over the past few months, I’ve been working in a lab focusing on DBS – Dried Blood Spot stability and storage. Tackling vital issues such as this drove my hunger to spread awareness for research and education on all aspects.

Hey everyone! My name is Cat, and I am a second-year BSc Biomedical Sciences student from Vancouver, Canada.

Having to suddenly shift away from the ordinary face-to-face teaching to an almost entirely virtual learning environment takes a toll on every student. As the Treasurer, I hope to be able to mediate this transition process and ensure that Immunology Society can continue to hold the best events for our members. These are trying times, and I hope to support our society members through the uncertainties that may come forth in the upcoming year. Working as the Lead Academic Representative within my degree programme this year has made me very comfortable in expressing my own thoughts as well as encouraging others to put forth ideas to initiate further discussion. As well, I am more than excited to continue to organise amazing events and create additional opportunities, such as a mentorship programme or educational workshops, within our society. I hope to lead fundraisers to spread awareness of notable illnesses such as AIDs and Vasculitis.

This year, I had the wonderful opportunity to Co-Lead the Universities Allied for Essential Medicines (UAEM) campaign. Tackling vital issues such as vaccine distribution has further fuelled my belief that there is a dire need to spread awareness for immunological research and autoimmune diseases. I look forward to working with everyone to dive deeper into their passion for the vast field of immunology. Thank you :)
