Hello! My name is Maud Bridel and I’m running for 2XI captain because playing for the UCL 2XI team in the time we had in 2020 stuck with me as an incredibly positive experience and I believe I’m capable of bringing about a strong 2XI team next academic year.
Being captain of the 2XI team at my last school, I grew to become a motivated and approachable captain with a strong will to win. However, I am still learning and hope that, should I be elected, I develop into a better captain by making sure I encourage my teammates and turn hockey into not just a distraction but also an enjoyable and entertaining sport.
I'm looking to create solid bonds between team members and make sure all feel included. Feeling a part of the team is crucial to me because it builds a sense of belonging and pride in what you’re doing, which in turn results in having fun. My ultimate aim would be to ensure that my teammates walk away from the hockey pitch feeling satisfied and wanting to come back, not just to play for the sake of it but also engage socially.
