Anugraha Krishna
Women’s hockey has given me so many role models and friends who’ve built me into who I am today. From stepping off the pitch to downing pitchers in Roxy, I think it’s safe to say that I have what it takes to be your treasurer. While organising the ceilidh as volunteering sec, I worked alongside the treasurer and gained an appreciation of the treasurer role in events planning, which will assist me working with the social and mixed-team captains for EOSD and tour. Spreadsheets are an art and science that I have now mastered. Whether organising events or sorting out which team we’d destroy next (with a handy Outlook calendar to follow), I’ve shown that I’m organised and ready to take on a larger role in leading the club. I’ve also had experience in the finance sector of the society- as fixtures sec I helped to check invoices ensuring we never overpaid for pitches. Fixtures sec also honed my stubbornness into an absolute weapon. Weekly airings by the union while trying to confirm pitches thickened my skin, so now I have no qualms with triple emailing or heading down in person to sort issues out. I’ll be making good use of these skills as treasurer to get our reimbursements back on time. On a serious note, I always have time to spare for this society, whether it’s about logistics or if any of you want to chat. Overall, my time in the club and previous roles have prepared me for this position. I am excited to take on this challenge and would be honoured to be your next Treasurer.
