I would love to be the social sec for hockey next year. I am sure we all can’t wait to be under the dingy lights of Mulleys and bring sports night back with a bang. I have definitely missed the weekly socials and the opportunity to see everyone and I cannot wait for them to be back.
I will be dedicated to continuing circle with the classics aswell as some fresh games with some hefty fines. But whilst also creating a inclusive environment for lots of new freshers. I am excited to have a few more themed weeks and dust off the cobwebs on the dance floor and encourage as many people to head out to ROXY as possible. I think it is so important to not only have our sports night fun but also continue some of the socials that took place in my first year such as ice skating and having roast after the Sunday matches. I want to ensure the current first years and freshers have a chance to catch up on lost time and get to know everyone really well and feel integrated into the club. Finally, I just want to continue the legacy of the great social secs I have had and have an as sociable year as possible!

I’m so excited to be running for social sec this year and be able to make up for all the lost time. Our social secs have done an incredible job at trying to preserve our precious club traditions through a screen, but it’s finally time to rally everyone back to Mulley’s and keep those pints coming.

I’ve tried to make the most of my role as mixed team captain, and in between lockdowns, managed to organise two successful mixed team games. I was really looking forward to planning the biggest social event of the year and making this year’s tour one to remember, but it was taken right out of my hands, which has meant that all this enthusiasm and excitement can be directed towards planning a year of many incredible socials (which I’m sure we all need).

I think I could bring some fun new ideas to the socials, making sure they’re always inclusive and welcoming! I like to think I’m a friendly face who can lure in freshers and even some old faces back to the dark cave, that is Roxy. This is in addition to organising some non-drinking socials, where we can really just get to know new members of the club and have some inter- team bonding time, which is very much needed.

I really love being part of this club and would love to play a role in growing the family and making sure everyone’s always having a great time, both on and off the pitch. Let’s make this year bigger and better, I can’t wait to see everyone soon and make it happen!
