Maria Artemenkova
Hello, everyone!

Through the position of Vice President, I am eager to inspire students and the wider society to create change. A sustainable future. Currently being Green Business Forum Director, I evaluated what is essential for the future and success of the Green Economy Society and understood its core values. I am committed to ensuring clear communication within the committee and among society members, to ensure the society is enjoyable for everyone. I am excited to work closely with the President and the committee members to organise events and establish new initiatives to educate individuals and shape our future. Moreover, I believe it is essential to undertake constant progress reviews to ensure that our society is achieving its long term goal, which I am committed to do. Through volunteering and work experience, I evaluated the necessary qualities for a leader and team player. I am eager to display my accumulated knowledge and skills in this position to ensure society progress and wellbeing of our members.

Hi! I’m Giaan, and I would love to help direct the society as vice president in the coming year. As someone who enjoys communicating with different people, I am excited to engage with members, as well as with other societies to set up collaborative events.

I believe interdisciplinary collaboration is important, especially in sustainability. Hence I would like to encourage diverse events which appeal to everyone, and which involve discussion between speakers from different fields! Another idea I am interested in working on is fostering community in the society, for example with more social activities at the end of each panel discussion, where people can chat and exchange ideas.

Outside of my studies, I have found it incredibly valuable to be involved with societies. I have experience in written communication from being a society Treasurer this year, as well as a Student Sustainability Ambassador at UCL. Having also had experience organising activities safely during the pandemic, I would like to contribute all that I can and help to make this a successful year!
Arna Mathiesen
As last year's Events Director, I loved working with a passionate team. Every member of committee brought niche perspectives and preferences to the table, and we can proudly look back on the year having organized a wide range of events. I'm committed to continuing the society's mission into the new year as the 2021-2020. I will work hard to ensure the society's success through ameliorating our document-sharing platform, doing more collaborations with other UCL and non-UCL societies, prioritising efficient meetiings, and introducing a Green Economy commercial awareness newsletter. Above all, this will be possible through teamwork with a group of committed society members. Vote for me if this mission resonates with you!
