Jackie Appiah-Kubi
Hey everyone! My name is Jackie Appiah-Kubi, I am a first-year Politics and International Relations student and I am running to be Ghana Society’s Promotions Officer. I would love to represent Ghanaian students on campus and I believe that being apart of the committee will give me that opportunity.

I believe I should be elected to this role because I have experience in social media. I have a social justice blog with 50k followers, where I discuss issues surrounding the black experience. Additionally, I use this page to promote Black businesses and raise awareness about charities and petitions. I understand how social media algorithms and I believe I can use this knowledge to move the society’s social media to the next level. Additionally, I have experience in designing flyers and posters for protest events and church services. This is a skill I will transfer to the society.

My priorities as the promotions officer are to reach out to Ghanaian students who are unaware of the society or do not regularly participate in Ghana society’s events. Additionally, I would like to promote the safe space that the Ghana society has created. I want the society to be well known not just on campus but nationally.

If you vote for me I will expand the Ghana society’s online presence and create links with Ghana societies nationally!
