Bonjour everyone, I am Nicolas!

As the Vice-President this year, it was a pleasure to help run the society alongside the President and the committee. During these peculiar times, we took pride in building a community of members of all backgrounds and origins; and as the President I hope to continue to make the society a space for anyone interested in Francophone culture and for Francophones alike.
Many of you will not have experienced our signature events, and I hope next year will be an opportunity to make up for all the missed socials: Club Nights with London French societies, Cheese and Wine events, Pub Crawls, Karaoke Nights… And it’s even more fun when the societies of our European friends come to join the party! The cultural side will not be forgotten, including talks and our annual play.
Our society is also enriched by the diversity of our French students, and with the uncertainty of the times ahead, we will be offering both in person and online classes, to cater for everyone’s needs and modes of study.
Building on our strong connection with French universities and Grandes Ecoles (HEC, Polytechnique etc.), I hope to offer members a gateway to prestigious studies.
But I am not alone! I have the honour to run alongside Julie Motouzka and Jehan Shipkolye, respectively candidates for Vice-President and Events & Welfare Officer. If you give us your trust, we will strive to create a vibrant and welcoming community for everyone, a home for all the Francophones of UCL!

Salut à tous!☺I’m Lorenzo, ESPS student! I strongly believe I fit this role as I committed several weekly hours to craft and deliver engaging French classes remotely. My commitment to French society enhanced my attention to students’ aims to transmit the love of French in a fun way. This is why I want to prioritise committee and members' connection. The first-hand experience I developed as diplomacy society’s head of events boosted my ability to take early initiatives, whilst ensuring all agendas coincided between UCL's, our society's and the speakers’.

I aim to take these competences to reveal French treasures to YOU. Inviting astonishing French personalities from Edouard Philippe to Thomas Piketty, or leaders of globally successful French industries, from aeronautical engineering to luxury, tourism, food, and culture, are amongst my dreams for this society.

Partnering with other UCL language societies, I'd love to organise an annual gala dinner inviting a leading expert from each society’s main country to bind our language communities, reinforce our UCL spirit and inspire all of us! Transmitting French culture on the other hand requires inter-uni French societies to unite. Partnering first with Imperial, King’s and LSE French societies, I’d aim to each invite one French expert/leader for a panel event on their careers, based on societies' polls to connect committee, members, and guests. Binding. Inspiring. Partnering. Hand in hand for a connected French society !☺
