Relevant Experience:
• Founder and Tutor head for a non-profit organisation in Canada, Education To Inspire, where I was teaching and holding wellbeing sessions for students who were affected due to the pandemic.
• Weekly wellbeing sessions were aimed to ensure students can meet each other online, discuss how they were feeling, how they were coping and following up if they needed any further help.
• Carrying out mindfulness sessions at my school to help students cope with their studies and stress.
• Captain for the Div 2 Intramural football team in UofT.
• Captain of my former high school football team.
My Vision:
1) Organise Wellbeing events with a Flexible approach:
• Organise fun socials and chill welfare events such as game nights and provide a safe environment for members.
• Introduce mindfulness sessions (meditation) to help cope with studies and matches.
• Partnering with a yoga trainer and further help our members to better cope with their daily life. This can be given either online which can be participated in the comfort of your room or in-person event.
• Raise awareness for mental health through participating in for example FITE.
2) Increase Inclusivity and Diversity
• Include wellbeing events with other societies and meet lots of people from different backgrounds.
• Pairing every first-year student with a senior in their same degree discipline to help them transition to university life and provide them support.
