I joined UCLWFC as a fresher (not that this is a sign or anything, but I do have the same football boots as the president that year!!). I was volunteering secretary last year, and now am 2s captain. I have a good idea of what works - a welcoming committee that supports each other in their roles, and good planning so we can run as many amazing events as possible.
I would like to be president because I know how much the football girls' friendly faces helped me. As a more recognisable member of the club, I'd do my best to be approachable and reach out to our new players. When I was trying to settle in in my first year, football training and matches were the highlights of my week. I want to keep this running smoothly and hit the ground running in September, to make up for all the lost trainings from this year :'( . Where we supported incredibly important charities like My Body Back in my first year, and then established links with the local community in my second year (and in my time as volunteering secretary), I would like to continue with the UCLWFC's charitable outreach. It has been one of my favourite parts of being in the club!
- maintaining schemes like Mums and Mums, weekly food bank donations, supporting younger girls in the community
- setting up a coaching scheme, so our keener beans can learn to coach too
- establishing regular, informal 5-a-sides on Saturdays
- think of ways to develop our feminist, inclusive ethos; would love input from you all!

Hiya guys, I would love to be the president of UCLWFC and have really enjoyed being one of this years 3rd team captains (not for many matches though…yet). I love football and truthfully admin work is a guilty pleasure of mine. I would love to continue the work of this year’s wonderful committee and keep UCLWFC fun and accessible for us all. I have always been passionate about football and have coached it for many years, earning my FA level 1 coaching award. I may not be the best player, but I am committed to improving myself as well as supporting and developing teammates to their fullest capabilities. I have experience booking pitches, hiring coaches, communicating with sponsors and referees, as well as having technical experience of the game. I am able to motivate, stay positive and bounce back even when facing defeat. I thrive off responsibility and like to think I am a good communicator. I will fully commit myself to the role and use previous experience and any feedback constructively. One of the key roles of being the president involves organising key Inter-UCL sport events such as This Girl Can and arranging the training camp which sounds like so much fun. I also believe that being a member of UCLWFC committee has its place both on and off the pitch, so in the light of lockdown (if it were to continue :/) I would do my best to work with the rest of the committee to organise fun activities and be innovative in how we can still train together despite the distance.
